Impractical for residential use

The woodpecker pro is a good device if you live in a rural area where screeching bird recordings won't bother the neighbors. If you use this in the city, be prepared to receive a noise citation from your local police department. And no, you can't turn it down low so it won't bother the neighbors and still have it be effective. City dwellers might as well put that same $200 towards hiring an exterminator or pest control pro. The majority of times it's a single woodpecker causing the damage, so it's not like you're going to need follow up visits by the pro. This is definitely a case of where being a DIY'er has no real benefit.
Be patient, works well.

I purchased this device and initially didnt have good results. However, once I determined my type of woodpecker, increased the frequency of the distress call, and found the right location (which wasnt until I had been using it for about 2 weeks), I had results. I watched as woodpeckers got scared away and havent been back since.
Bird-X worthless

Wasted good money on this device. Woodpeckers drilling holes 5 feet from
it as it blasts away. Bothers nothing except my neighbors.
