Iguana Repellent

I didn’t even know that Iguanas were a problem!! Then I read this article by Diane Lade about Iguana Rid in the Palm Beach Post.

Streisfeld sees a business opportunity.The inventor and entrepreneur is the guy behind Iguana-Rid, a new pesticide-free concoction that claims to be “the spray that keeps the iguanas away” through its pungent smell and nasty taste. The product, made in Tampa and sold locally in about 50 hardware and garden stores, is going gangbusters, said Streisfeld from his Deerfield Beach distribution center – no doubt because the feral reptiles are multiplying, getting bigger and turning nasty. An Oakland Park girl trying to feed an iguana strawberries this month required 23 stitches after it bit her on the foot.
Iguana-Rid contains several substances believed to repel the reptiles, including extracts of garlic and red pepper.
