these work well to repel mosquitoes and you do not have to spray toxic stuff all over... they are surprisingly long-lasting if you keep them in the little plastic container provided. (I read the other reviews from people who say they did not work- I am surprised because without them I get LOTS of bites and if I put them on- no problems.)
These actually work!

Our 2 year old daughter was getting eaten alive and I mean she has scars she had so many bites. We found these and didn't have to spray her just so she could go out and play for 15 minutes. They are a great alternative to sprays. We placed it on her ankle since she was getting bitten on her legs the most. Haven't had a bite since. I am not sure how it works for adults though.
Eh...Not the best.

Reviewer: Belinda Darke,
These bands do not really repel mosquitos unless you wear one on every extremity and your body temp is warm enough to really heat the band up and release the scent...The bands did reduce the number of mosquitos buzzing about, but we still got a fair amount of bites. So far, nothing beats DEET.
Better than Nothing

I purchased these because I read a review that they worked better than the Clip-On Bug Repellant , but they did not work for me unless I wore them near my neck attached to a necklace to keep the bugs away from my face when mowing the lawn...
They didn't work for me, either!

I ordered the family pack in hopes to protect my kids and myself from the endless mosquito bites we get everytime we go outside. Just to be safe, I put on TWO bands - one on each leg - and I set out to do yard work. (The package makes you believe that 1 band per person is enough to keep bugs away). As I began working, I carefully observed a bunch of little black gnats fly around my ankles. They landed on my legs and crawled all over the bugbands as if they weren't there! After shooing them off, I continued my yardwork, but had to stop because I had received 4 mosquito bites (2 on each leg). I didn't care to find out how many more I would get at this point! I really, really wanted to like this product because I hate spraying on bug repellent. I don't know why these bands don't work on me, or on my 7yo son (who also came in with numerous mosquito bites; and he had bands on both legs, too). The product was a great idea - the bands are well made, go on easily and stay on, and they SMELL like they would work. But they did not do what was promised on the package, and that alone is why I gave it a low rating. I know I was willing to give these a try based on the positive reviews I've read, but unfortunately, they didn't work for me at all. I spent almost $15 for the family assorted package since I have 4 kids. Now I wish I had bought 1 and tried it out first before wasting my money. Maybe the people who have success with these are being too active for the mosquitoes to land on them. And maybe these bands are not effective for those, like myself, who know they are mosquito-magnets. I was truly hoping these were going to work, but they didn't. Sorry!
